The Tyco CPU801 Central Processor Unit 32 bit processor and memory card (557.202.810) provides the main processing power behind the MX detection panels. CPU801 is a multi-layer PCB and contains the CPU, the memory and interface electronics. The CPU801 plugs into the field interface module FIM800.
Tyco CPU801 contains a Data Memory (SRAM), a program memory (Flash EPROM) and a boot ROM (EPROM). The use of a flash EPROM allows program upgrades without the need for changing chips.
